Notifications on 'Sahl'... for those accepted in Hajj nominations
- Candidates must register with one of the Hajj campaigns within three days of receiving the notification.
- Hajj can be postponed once, and this applies to the entire application, not just to one individual within it.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs announced the opening of the registration period for candidates for next year’s Hajj season, starting on Sunday, in accordance with the procedures and regulations approved by the Ministry.
In a press statement on Saturday, the Ministry stated that “candidates will receive their nomination notifications via the ‘Sahel’ app, and each candidate must register with one of the Hajj companies within three days of receiving the notification.” It clarified that “completing registration requires paying the advance deposit set by the Supreme Committee for Hajj and Umrah for each pilgrim in the group. Registration with a campaign is not permitted without paying the advance deposit, and the nomination will be cancelled if the candidate fails to register with one of the Hajj companies within the specified deadline.”
The Ministry added that “a candidate receiving a nomination notification for the first time may postpone their nomination once via the ‘Sahel’ app. However, those who were previously nominated in last year’s Hajj season and opted to postpone cannot postpone again. The postponement applies to the entire application, and individual members cannot be postponed separately.”
To facilitate communication between candidates and Hajj companies, the Ministry pointed out the possibility of visiting the Eighth Hajj and Umrah Exhibition (Labbaik) or the companies’ offices. It noted that the exhibition opens on Sunday and runs for seven days, from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM, at the Kuwait International Fairgrounds in the External Hall (B).
The Ministry specified the requirements for registering with Hajj campaigns, “which include a personal photo and a copy of the passport uploaded via the ‘Sahel’ app, and a copy of the civil ID uploaded via the ‘Huwiyati’ app, along with the required advance payment to secure the booking. It also stipulated that the passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of the pilgrims’ departure and remain valid until February 2027.”
Regarding organizational deadlines, the Ministry emphasized the necessity of paying the first installment immediately upon receiving the nomination notification, and completing the payment for the contracted Hajj package no later than November 1 next year. This date also marks the final deadline for transfers between Hajj companies, clarifying that transfers from one campaign to another are allowed only once.
Regarding the cancellation policy and refund procedures, the Ministry stated that “those who cancel their registration on or before December 30 next year will receive a full refund of all amounts paid for the package without any deductions. If cancellation occurs after this date, a full refund will be issued without deductions, provided that the vacant seat resulting from the cancellation is filled by a candidate from the reserve list and the replacement’s registration procedures are completed.”
The Ministry confirmed that “failure to pay the full advance amount for Hajj will result in the complete cancellation of the application,” and noted that details of Hajj campaigns and prices can be accessed through the Hajj campaign data inquiry service available via the ‘Sahel’ app.
