Jarah Al-Jaber: The Palestinian cause does not need diagnosis... but will and implementation

This was stated in a speech delivered by Sheikh Jirah during his participation last Thursday in the High-Level Ministerial Meeting of the International Coalition for Implementing the Two-State Solution, organized by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Norway, and the European Union at United Nations Headquarters in New York on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

He emphasized that justice cannot be selective, and that the continuation of occupation, settlement expansion, and attempts to alter the geographical and demographic reality undermines the two-state solution and puts the credibility of the international system to a real test.

In a speech delivered during his participation in the Ministerial Meeting in Support of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), organized by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Kingdom of Spain, and the Federative Republic of Brazil, the Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the State of Kuwait’s support for UNRWA represents a humanitarian responsibility and a political commitment to the rights and dignity of the Palestinian people. He pointed to Kuwait’s dedication to continuing its political and financial support for the agency, alongside the humanitarian aid it provides to the Palestinian people.

In addition, the Minister of Foreign Affairs participated in a ministerial session on health and humanitarian access in Gaza, co-organized by the State of Qatar, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the United Kingdom.

In a speech during the meeting of the Group of 77 at United Nations Headquarters, the Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed the necessity of concerted international efforts, especially with the approaching deadline for the implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, which has yet to achieve its desired goals.

He affirmed Kuwait’s commitment to unifying the voice of the Global South and defending the right of its peoples to development, security, and prosperity, and working toward a more just and equitable international system that entrenches multilateralism and is based on respect for the UN Charter and international law.

During the meetings, bilateral relations between Kuwait and its sister and friendly countries were reviewed, in addition to discussing the latest developments on the regional and international scenes.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs also reviewed the latest regional and international developments with Luigi Di Maio, the European Union’s Special Envoy for the Gulf region, and exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest.
