Al-Yousef heads Kuwait delegation to UN Crime Prevention Conference in Abu Dhabi

The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Youssef Al-Saud Al-Sabah, chaired the Kuwait delegation participating in the 15th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, which launched today in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi. The congress is attended by representatives of numerous countries, international organizations, and experts and specialists.

In a statement, Minister Al-Yousef emphasized that Kuwait’s participation in the congress reflects its commitment to active engagement in international forums focused on security and criminal justice, supporting joint efforts, and enhancing cooperation and coordination among nations to confront security challenges, combat crime, and strengthen security and stability.

The Ministry of Interior stated in its statement that the congress addresses a number of security and judicial issues and challenges, foremost among them combating organized crime and terrorism, strengthening criminal justice systems and the rule of law, developing crime prevention strategies, and responsibly leveraging modern technologies.

The ministry noted that Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef held, on the sidelines of the congress’s opening, a meeting with Syrian Interior Minister Anas Al-Khattab and his accompanying delegation, as well as a separate meeting with Malaysian Interior Minister Dato’ Seri Syed Hamid Albar and his accompanying delegation.
