Trump rejects Iranian proposal

US President Donald Trump announced his rejection of a proposal presented by Iran to the United States regarding a “ceasefire and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz,” noting that Tehran “is suffering losses because it is not receiving funds, its economy is dying, and its source of income comes from the Strait of Hormuz.”

He added: “They want to reach an agreement that leads to the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, because they are incurring heavy losses... while we are achieving major victories and have full control over the Strait of Hormuz.”

He continued: “They want to conclude an agreement, and I think that is good, as I also want to reach an agreement. What they are seeking is the immediate opening of the Strait of Hormuz... because they are not generating any revenue, as their funds come from the Strait of Hormuz.”
