Mbappe leaves France camp due to knee injury

French striker Kylian Mbappe will leave his national team camp after being forced to leave the field due to a knee injury, shortly after scoring the winning goal against Turkey in Friday's European Nations League football match.

The team captain received treatment immediately after scoring the goal and returned to the pitch after a short period, but he fell again after about a minute and was unable to continue, forcing coach Zinedine Zidane to substitute him in the 58th minute of his first match as national team manager.

Speaking about the Real Madrid player, Zidane said, "Unfortunately, it doesn't look good. I think he will have to go back. We won't take any risks. He has swelling in his knee. The situation is not encouraging, so we won't take any risks."

The French Football Federation stated that Mbappe suffered an injury to his "knee tendon" and that he will return to Madrid.

France won 1-0 in their first match in Group 1 of the top tier of the European Nations League.
