Environment Ministry responds to reports of toxic plants

The General Environment Authority announced the holding of a coordination meeting with the Kuwait Center for Toxicology Monitoring regarding reports of the presence of certain poisonous plants near public places.

It explained that the meeting addressed the mechanisms for handling these reports, with the attendance of Abdul Latif Al-Omair, Director of the Center for Toxicology Monitoring, and representatives from the General Environment Authority’s Biodiversity Department. The discussions focused on enhancing coordination and information exchange among the relevant authorities, and identifying contact points to ensure rapid response and the adoption of appropriate measures to mitigate potential risks to public health and the environment.

The Authority noted that this meeting is part of its efforts to strengthen cooperation with concerned entities, monitor the locations of poisonous plants, and take necessary measures in collaboration with the General Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fisheries, thereby contributing to the protection of society and the preservation of the environment.
