Al-Jaber: Enhancing the quality of education and leveraging digital transformation
This was stated in a speech delivered during the high-level event titled “Doubling the Potential: A New Era for Education Financing,” organized by the governments of the Italian Republic and the Federal Republic of Nigeria in cooperation with the Global Partnership for Education. The event was held at United Nations Headquarters in New York on Wednesday evening, on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The State of Kuwait reaffirmed its commitment to supporting efforts aimed at expanding access to education, particularly in developing countries and the most vulnerable communities, based on its belief that investing in education is an investment in development, stability, and shared prosperity.
In this context, he pointed to the State of Kuwait’s continued support, through its national and development institutions, foremost among them the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, for projects and programs in sister and friendly countries, including those related to education and human capacity development, as well as its support for educational programs undertaken by international organizations.
He emphasized the importance of protecting education during times of crisis and ensuring sustainable and adequate financing to guarantee the continuity of the educational process and safeguard the right of children and youth to build a better future.
The State of Kuwait reaffirmed its support for international efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 4, underscoring the importance of strengthening international partnerships, mobilizing resources, and exchanging expertise to contribute to building more inclusive, higher-quality, and resilient education systems that ensure no one is left behind.
In a related context, the Minister of Foreign Affairs participated in a high-level event titled “A Call to Action for Children in the West Bank and Gaza Strip,” which addressed ways to enhance the protection of Palestinian children and meet their basic needs.
The event was held at United Nations Headquarters in New York and jointly organized by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Kingdom of Belgium, and the European Union. It discussed the humanitarian situation facing children in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, as well as ways to strengthen their protection and support efforts to provide them with essential care and services.
In the course of bilateral meetings, the Minister of Foreign Affairs discussed with Donald Blum, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, ways to enhance and develop bilateral relations and strategic cooperation between the State of Kuwait and the United States across various fields.
He also reviewed the strategic relations between the two countries with Massad Boulos, Senior Advisor to the U.S. President for Arab and African Affairs. The discussions covered the latest regional developments, exchanged views on these matters, and efforts to support security and stability in the region.
In separate meetings, the Minister of Foreign Affairs discussed with Kyrgyzstan’s Foreign Minister Jenbek Kulubaev and Singapore’s Foreign Minister Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan ways to strengthen and develop bilateral relations in various areas.
The meetings, held at the Permanent Mission of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations in New York, addressed the latest developments and trends on the regional and international scenes.
