Kuwait and Thailand Discuss Enhancing the Role of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue

Nasser Al-Mutairi, Secretary-General of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), met with Arthaiyut Srisamut, Advisor to the Thai Minister of Foreign Affairs, during his visit to the ACD Secretariat in Kuwait. The meeting was attended by Songchai Chaipatiwit, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Kuwait, and Pornpimol Sogandavanija, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Economic Affairs.

A statement issued by the ACD Secretariat noted that the two sides discussed, in the context of preparations for the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue in 2027, ways to enhance the role of the dialogue and develop its mechanisms, enabling it to address regional and international challenges more effectively and strengthening its capacity to articulate the shared positions and visions of Asian countries.

The meeting also addressed the importance of continuing efforts to consolidate the role of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue as a platform that brings Asian countries together and promotes cooperation and coordination among them, contributing to shaping an “Asian voice” and strengthening its presence in addressing the issues and challenges facing the region and the world.
