Public Works discusses road projects with Omani delegation

Officials from the Ministry of Public Works met with a delegation from the Sultanate of Oman’s Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, led by Mohammed Tabook, to discuss several technical and administrative matters related to the implementation and management of major road projects. The meeting was held within the framework of enhancing cooperation and exchanging technical expertise in the fields of roads and infrastructure.

The two sides held a meeting chaired by Khalid Al-Asimi, Director General of Road Engineering Affairs, in the presence of several department directors and road project engineers from the Ministry of Public Works. They reviewed key road and infrastructure projects in both the State of Kuwait and the Sultanate of Oman, exchanged experiences gained from implementing and managing major projects, and familiarized themselves with work practices in this field, including Kuwait’s experience in executing the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Bridge project.

The visit underscored the importance of exchanging practical experiences and technical expertise between specialists in the two countries, and leveraging accumulated experience in implementing road and infrastructure projects to support the development of work methods and improve the efficiency and quality of projects.

This visit comes as part of efforts to strengthen technical cooperation between the State of Kuwait and the Sultanate of Oman, and to exchange experiences and expertise in the fields of roads and infrastructure, contributing to the development of the road system, enhancing project efficiency and quality, and ensuring implementation in accordance with best practices and approved standards.

The Ministry of Public Works will close the right-turn lane on Al-Ghawss Street in the Jaber Al-Ali district early Friday morning for traffic heading from the Seventh Ring Road roundabout to Route 104 between Plot 1 and Plot 7, in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic.

Additionally, early Sunday morning, Al-Ghawss Street in the Al-Sabahia district will be closed for traffic heading from the Fahd Al-Ahmad roundabout to the Al-Sabahia Gas roundabout, with traffic diverted to the opposite direction, using one lane for entry and two lanes for exit on Al-Ghawss Street.
