African diplomatic corps bids farewell to ambassadors of Malawi and Tanzania
The head of the African diplomatic corps expressed his appreciation, in a speech during the occasion, for the contributions made by the two ambassadors during their tenure in Kuwait. He praised their professionalism and commitment, as well as their role in strengthening relations between their respective countries and the State of Kuwait, in addition to their active participation in the activities of the African diplomatic corps.
He stated that the two ambassadors served as exemplary models in representing their countries and building bridges of cooperation and brotherhood with their colleagues. He highlighted their active participation in the political, cultural, media, social, and sporting events organized by the African diplomatic corps, most notably the annual Africa Day celebration.
He noted that Ambassador Abdulkarim chaired the organizing committee for the 2025 Africa Day celebration, while Ambassador Masoro participated in the organizing committee for the 2026 Africa Day celebration. He affirmed that these contributions reflected their dedication to supporting joint African efforts and enhancing communication among African missions in Kuwait.
He added: “As you embark on a new chapter in your careers, your footprints in Kuwait will remain etched in our memory and in the history of relations between our countries. You will always be welcome among us, and we hope that the bonds of friendship we have built with you over the years will continue to endure.”
He extended his deep gratitude to Kuwait, which he described as a hospitable country and a hub for humanitarian work, to its leadership, government, and people, for their solidarity and generosity. He also expressed his thanks to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its constant cooperation with accredited diplomatic missions and international organizations, and for the facilitations it provides to enable diplomatic missions to perform their duties to the best of their ability.
For his part, Ambassador Masoro expressed his gratitude to the African diplomatic corps for the invitation and their presence. He affirmed that the friendship and support he received during his stay here made his experience smoother and more enjoyable. He noted that his colleagues alleviated the weight of homesickness, making Kuwait, “in many ways, a second home” to him.
Masoro stated that his departure from Kuwait would be accompanied by beautiful memories and friendships he would be proud of. He expressed his longing for his colleagues, specifically mentioning the members of the African diplomatic corps’ football team, the matches, and the times they shared.
In turn, Ambassador Abdulkarim expressed his sincere gratitude to the African diplomatic corps and to his friends and colleagues in Kuwait, as his tenure, which lasted four years and five months, is coming to an end.
He said that working alongside his African colleagues had been a great honor, expressing his appreciation for the spirit of friendship, solidarity, cooperation, and African unity that bound them together during his time in Kuwait.
Abdulkarim expressed his appreciation for the State of Kuwait and its leadership, as well as for the government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the various Kuwaiti institutions and officials with whom he cooperated. He praised the support and cooperation they provided, which contributed to creating a positive environment for the practice of diplomacy.
He concluded by saying: “I may be leaving Kuwait, but I will certainly not be leaving the friendships I have formed here.” He wished Kuwait lasting peace, stability, and prosperity, and the African continent further unity, peace, and development.
