Saudi Arabia explores new routes for oil exports and storage

Bloomberg – Saudi Aramco Chief Executive Officer Amin Nasser affirmed that the company possesses operational flexibility and logistical capabilities enabling it to fulfill its commitments to customers even amid geopolitical disruptions, noting that Aramco continues to evaluate additional export routes and enhance its storage capacities outside the Kingdom to ensure uninterrupted supply to global markets.

Nasser told Nikkei Asia that Aramco has multiple options to meet customer needs without interruption, emphasizing that the company continues to supply oil and petroleum products to markets normally, despite challenges facing the global energy sector due to current regional tensions.

Nasser pointed out that the East-West Pipeline project is not a single line but consists of a network of pipelines that provide significant flexibility in transporting crude oil and petroleum products, stressing that the company is capable of withstanding and managing severe disruptions thanks to its advanced infrastructure and operational expertise.

He clarified that Aramco is also assessing opportunities to expand its overseas storage capacities, which would strengthen its ability to meet global demand and maintain supply reliability under various conditions.

Nasser noted that Aramco can address any disruptions affecting its operations within a matter of days, adding that the company is seriously considering alternative oil export options in light of current geopolitical developments.

The Aramco CEO warned that global energy conditions may face further pressures, considering that potential supply disruptions could be substantial rather than limited, which could exacerbate challenges facing global energy markets and underscore the importance of ensuring stable and reliable oil flows to consuming markets.
