Commercial Bank participates in collecting 1.5 tons of waste
In line with its ongoing commitment to social responsibility and environmental sustainability, and on the occasion of World Cleanup Day, The Commercial Real Estate Company (TCRE) participated in a beach cleanup campaign held last Saturday at Kuwait Towers Beach. TCRE collaborated with Spread the Passion, the event organizer in Kuwait, serving as a Platinum Partner in the initiative aimed at raising awareness about the importance of environmental conservation and reducing pollution.
The event saw the participation of more than 350 volunteers at the Kuwait Towers Beach site, out of a total of over 1,000 volunteers distributed across various campaign locations in Kuwait. The event was attended by Mishaal Al-Khalifi, a member of the Capital Governorate Council.
The campaign resulted in the collection of approximately 1.5 tons of waste and debris, contributing to the reduction of pollution and the maintenance of beach and marine environment cleanliness. It also reinforced awareness of the importance of adopting more sustainable practices to preserve natural resources for future generations.
Additionally, TCRE distributed 75 eco-friendly bags to participants, aiming to encourage the adoption of a more sustainable lifestyle and enhance environmental awareness within the community.
Abdulmattalib Maarifi, the company’s Chief Executive Officer, emphasized that the company’s participation in this initiative is an extension of its commitment to social and environmental responsibility, as well as its dedication to supporting initiatives that promote a culture of volunteering, sustainability, and environmental protection.
He added that such initiatives highlight the importance of collaboration among various entities and community members to create a positive and lasting impact, expressing his appreciation to all participants and volunteers who contributed to the success of the campaign.
For her part, Dr. Fatima Al-Mousawi, the official representative of Kuwait in the campaign and Executive Director of the Kafu Project, underscored the importance of the combined efforts of participating organizations and volunteers in spreading the culture of volunteering and community service, and in enhancing awareness of the importance of environmental conservation.
TCRE’s participation in the campaign is part of its social responsibility programs and initiatives, reflecting its commitment to building a more aware and sustainable society and contributing to the protection of the environment and natural resources.
