Al-Avenues is a partner in the "Your School's Wish" initiative
In line with its commitment to supporting environmental initiatives and enhancing its corporate social responsibility, The Avenues is participating as a strategic partner in the fourth edition of the “Amani School” competition for plastic collection and recycling for the 2026–2027 academic year. The competition is organized by the non-profit organization “Amani,” under the patronage of the Ministry of Education for the fourth consecutive year, and under the supervision of the Public Authority for Environment, with the participation of several government entities and private sector institutions.
This partnership stems from The Avenues’ dedication to supporting initiatives aimed at promoting a culture of sustainability and encouraging community members, particularly school students, to adopt environmentally friendly practices. The Avenues has supported the initiative by providing a dedicated space for the exhibition accompanying the competition in the Grand Plaza area throughout the event period, from September 17 to 30, 2026. This allows school students to visit the exhibition, learn about the competition’s objectives, and register to participate.
Hosting the exhibition at The Avenues helps reach a broad segment of the community, especially students in public schools, and encourages their active participation in the initiative by collecting plastic waste and delivering it to the participating schools. This fosters a culture of community engagement, reinforces the concept of environmental responsibility among students and their families, and contributes to turning sustainable practices into daily habits.
As a major destination that brings together families, friends, and various segments of society, The Avenues strives to be an active part of initiatives that address community interests and serve its diverse demographics. It does so by providing a space for communication, interaction, and participation in activities and initiatives with positive impact, drawing on its position as a comprehensive destination that forms an essential part of the community’s daily life.
The competition targets school students across all educational stages, from kindergarten to secondary school. Its previous edition saw the participation of 156 schools, which successfully collected 264 tons of plastic over six weeks. This plastic was recycled in cooperation with the relevant authorities, contributing to freeing up 792 cubic meters of landfill capacity and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 660 tons, according to results announced by “Amani.”
