The Ministry of Interior announced today, Thursday, that a joint meeting between the Kuwaiti and Iraqi sides took place on the sidelines of the visit by the head of the Iraqi Security Media Cell to the Ministry of Interior and his meeting with the Deputy Minister.
It was noted that the meeting was attended by several security and military leaders from the two brotherly countries, as part of efforts to enhance cooperation and joint coordination and to exchange expertise in areas of mutual interest.
The Kuwaiti side welcomed the head of the Iraqi Security Media Cell, Major General Dr. Saad Maan, and his accompanying delegation, reaffirming the deep fraternal relations uniting the State of Kuwait and the sisterly Republic of Iraq, and emphasizing the commitment to continue developing cooperation and coordination frameworks between the competent authorities in both countries.
The meeting discussed a number of common topics and issues, foremost among them enhancing security and military media cooperation, developing coordination mechanisms to highlight efforts and facilitate information exchange.
The meeting also addressed ways to strengthen media coordination in confronting rumors and curbing their spread through rapid monitoring, response, and handling, alongside strengthening direct communication channels between the competent authorities in both countries to ensure swift responsiveness to events and developments.
The Kuwaiti delegation included Major General Majbel Fahd Al-Rashidi, Head of the Border Security and Coast Guard Affairs Sector; Lieutenant Colonel Nasser Eid Busaleeb, Director General of the General Administration of Security Relations and Media; Colonel Saud Abdulaziz Al-Atwan, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense; Colonel Yousef Anbar, Assistant Advisor to the Director General of the General Administration of Security Relations and Media; Colonel Mishaari Ahmed Al-Samhan, Head of the Security Media Department; and Colonel Mohammed Al-Mutawa, Head of the Strategic Media and Communications Branch.
