"Airport Customs": Thwarts smuggling of 1,996 Ritalin pills carried by traveler arriving from Addis Ababa

Customs inspectors at Kuwait International Airport thwarted an attempt to smuggle 1,996 tablets of the drug “Rayol,” which is listed in the schedule of psychotropic substances due to its active ingredient, Tapentadol. The tablets were in the possession of a traveler arriving from Addis Ababa.

The General Department of Customs stated in a statement that the seizure was made possible by the vigilance of customs inspectors and the precision of inspection procedures. The tablets were found in the traveler’s possession, and a seizure report was immediately prepared. Standard customs and legal procedures were carried out, and the suspect and the seized items were referred to the General Department for Combating Narcotics and Alcohol.

The department reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining strict control over all entry points and firmly combating attempts to smuggle narcotics and psychotropic substances into the country.
