Al-Jawhari: "Termination of Teachers' Services" Does Not Concern Egyptians and Includes Other Nationalities

Haddad Al-Jawhari, Egypt’s Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Consular Affairs and Egyptians Abroad, stated that the ministry is in contact with the relevant Kuwaiti authorities, as well as the Egyptian Embassy and Consulate in Kuwait, to follow up on the status of Egyptian teachers affected by the decision to terminate their services.

In a press statement, Al-Jawhari affirmed that the Kuwaiti authorities’ decision does not target Egyptians, but rather encompasses teachers of various nationalities and is part of internal policies. He noted that the Embassy and Consulate are in continuous contact with the affected citizens to work on regularizing their status with the Kuwaiti side, ensuring they receive their full financial entitlements, and exploring the possibility of their integration into private, non-governmental schools.

The Egyptian Teachers’ Professional Syndicate, in a statement, commended the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ efforts regarding the situation of the Egyptian teachers whose services were terminated, emphasizing the importance of swift Egyptian action to support the teachers’ interests.
