Qabil replaces Al-Hamadi in Iraq's squad

Baghdad - AFP - Graham Arnold, the Australian coach of the Iraqi national team, ruled out striker Ali Al-Hamadi ahead of the match against Oman in the opening match of the 27th edition of the Gulf Cup football tournament due to injury.

Al-Hamadi sustained an injury to his right ankle joint during a training session conducted by the "Lions of the Tigris" in Jeddah on Monday, with medical examinations confirming the injury.

Qabil will join the Iraqi delegation in Jeddah, arriving from Belgrade, the Serbian capital, where the Olympic team is currently holding a training camp.
