Al-Sakhtawi: Oman national team is going through a different era

Oman national team coach, Moroccan Tarik Sektioui, stated that the team is currently in a building phase, but he affirmed a strong desire to please the fans by achieving positive results in the "Arab House Gulf Cup 27" tournament.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference ahead of Wednesday's match against Iraq, Sektioui said: "We are undergoing a new, smart building process. We have held three training camps, and we have a strong desire to make our fans happy. We ask them to stand by us and support us in all upcoming tournaments."

He added: "We must take previous results into consideration. The Oman national team has had notable successes in past tournaments, but now we are in a different era." He continued: "We are ready in all aspects—mentally, physically, and morally. We had significant tasks to accomplish to reach full readiness."

Regarding tomorrow's opponent, Sektioui said: "The Iraq national team has made many changes to its lineup, which differs from the one that participated in the recent World Cup. This change is positive, and we aim to be well-prepared for the match and to secure a victory."
