German Federation calls Infantino's proposal a "maneuver"

Bernd Neuendorf, President of the German Football Association, stated that the reform proposal put forward by FIFA President Swiss Gianni Infantino represents a "clear maneuver" to secure his re-election next year.

Infantino had proposed holding talks on potential reforms within the global football governing body, amid growing criticism of his leadership.

In a letter addressed to the presidents of FIFA’s 211 member associations and members of the FIFA Council, Infantino proposed an independent external review of FIFA’s governance and the holding of consultations to enhance decision-making processes within the federation, including the role of the president.

It is worth noting that Infantino (56) recently faced sharp criticism over plans, later abandoned, to sell stakes in FIFA tournaments, such as the World Cup, to private sector investors.
