Al-Ahli players joined the Green Team

Players of Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahli club joined their national team’s training camp in Jeddah, as part of the “Green Falcons” preparations for their match against Kuwait, scheduled for Wednesday to open their campaign in the group stage of the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup.

The Al-Ahli players returned from South Africa, where they faced hosts Mamelodi Sundowns in the Africa-Asia-Pacific Champions Cup, a qualifier for the next stage of the Intercontinental Cup, which ended in a 1-2 defeat for the Asian champions last Saturday.

Al-Ahli players Ryan Hamad, Zakaria Hawsawi, Ziyad Al-Juhani, Saleh Abu Al-Shammat, and Firas Al-Brikan trained with their teammates after the coaching staff, led by Greek manager Georgios Donis, granted rest to the players who started the Sundowns match.

Mukhtar Ali, who was called up in place of Musab Al-Juwair, who was excluded from the squad for disciplinary reasons, also participated in training.

The “Green Falcons” held a closed training session today at the training grounds of King Abdullah Sports City, and will train tomorrow at the stadium that will host the match against Kuwait.
