Kuwait’s Olympic team clings to hope as it faces the Philippines at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, in the final round of Group C in the football tournament at the Asian Games being held in Japan.

The “Olympic Blues” enter the match aiming for a big win, hoping that their direct rival, Vietnam, will lose to Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan has already secured its qualification after two consecutive victories, defeating the Philippines 5-1 and Kuwait 2-0, bringing their points tally to six.

Vietnam sits second in the group with four points, having drawn 1-1 with Kuwait and beaten the Philippines 2-0. The “Olympic Blues” are in third place with a single point, ahead of the Philippines, who are at the bottom of the group without any points and have officially been eliminated from the race for a quarter-final spot.
