Municipality approves expansion of Al-Salmi border crossing and utilization of government lands as parking lots

The Municipal Council, in its regular session held on Monday and chaired by Abdullah Al-Muhairi, approved the General Customs Administration’s request to expand the site of the Salmi border crossing.

The Council also approved the request to cancel the allocation of the site for the Third Olefins and Second Aromatics (D2) project and to reallocate the site to support the expansion operations related to the onshore treatment project, facilities, and installations of the offshore Dera Field project (OPF) in the Zour area.

Additionally, the Council approved the Council of Ministers’ decision to utilize vacant lands allocated to government entities as temporary parking lots until the commencement of the projects for which they were designated.

The Council also approved the Council of Ministers’ decision to amend the Municipal Council’s decision to allow the organization and utilization of sites within the road right-of-way as parking lots.
