Security cooperation between Kuwait and Iraq leads to the arrest of suspects in the trafficking of 700,000 Captagon pills in Khabd stables

The General Directorate for Anti-Narcotics succeeded in seizing 700,000 tablets of Captagon, a psychotropic substance, in a security operation that resulted from security cooperation and coordination between the State of Kuwait and the Republic of Iraq, within the framework of joint efforts to combat narcotics and pursue those involved in their smuggling and trafficking.

The operation led to the arrest of one suspect of Iraqi nationality and another who was residing illegally. The seizure took place in the livestock pens (jawakhir) in the Kabd area, where the seized quantity was found in their possession.

Upon confrontation with the seized items, both suspects admitted that the drugs belonged to them and were intended for sale. They were subsequently referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal action against them.

This operation is part of ongoing security efforts to combat the scourge of narcotics and curb its spread. It also underscores the importance of inter-state security cooperation in confronting drug smuggling and distribution operations, enhancing information exchange and coordination to pursue those involved, and protecting society from the dangers of this scourge.
