Coordination between Kuwait and the United Kingdom on cooperation in emergency and crisis management

The team responsible for establishing the National Center for Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management (AMAN) visited the Cabinet Office Briefing Rooms (COBR) of the British government to study the crisis and emergency management system in the United Kingdom, as well as coordination mechanisms among government entities and decision-support processes during crises and major incidents.

In a statement on Friday, the AMAN team reported that the visit featured extensive discussions and exchanges of inquiries regarding operational mechanisms, coordination, and crisis response. The British side provided an overview of key procedures, best practices, experiences, and lessons learned in this field.

The team noted that it examined the role of the UK Resilience Academy in building national capacities and developing the skills of leaders and professionals in resilience, emergency, and crisis management through specialized training, qualification programs, and exercises.

It was further mentioned that both sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise between Kuwait and the United Kingdom in the field of emergency, crisis, and disaster management, as well as risk management. The British side expressed its readiness to cooperate and share expertise to support Kuwait’s efforts in establishing and developing the AMAN center, leveraging the British experience in this area.

The visit is part of the team’s program to study international experiences and best practices, contributing to the development of Kuwait’s national system for emergency, crisis, and disaster management, as well as risk management.
