KIB Enhances Banking Awareness Among AIU Students

As part of its ongoing support for the “Let’s Be Aware” banking awareness campaign launched by the Central Bank of Kuwait and the Kuwait Banks Association in collaboration with local banks, Kuwait International Bank (KIB) participated in an informational session for new students at the American International University – Kuwait (AIU), coinciding with the start of the new academic year. This participation reflects the bank’s commitment to supporting young people and enhancing their banking culture and awareness, particularly regarding the safe use of banking services and methods to protect against fraud.
The event saw the participation of a KIB team, which engaged in direct communication with students, answered their inquiries, and provided advice and guidance on best practices for protecting their accounts and banking data from fraud attempts. The team also introduced students to the key risks associated with using banking and digital services, as well as ways to handle them safely.
The bank’s team emphasized the importance of keeping banking information confidential, and not sharing PINs, passwords, or one-time passwords (OTP) with anyone. They also stressed the need for caution when dealing with suspicious links, messages, and calls.
Commenting on the participation, Mariam Al-Nasser, Director of Branches and Premium Banking Services in the Retail Banking Department at KIB, said: “University events represent an important opportunity to connect with students at a new stage in their lives and introduce them to the fundamental practices they should follow when managing their accounts and using banking and digital services. Through these sessions, we strive to highlight the main tactics used by fraudsters, how to identify and avoid falling victim to fraud attempts, and to emphasize the importance of being cautious with any requests for banking information or personal data. We always aim to deliver these guidelines in a practical and easy-to-understand manner, helping students develop sound banking habits from the very beginning of their banking experience.”
