National Bank launches "NBK Reach" for Kuwaiti students studying in the United Kingdom

National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) has launched “NBK Reach,” a specialized initiative designed to develop and prepare Kuwaiti students studying in the United Kingdom. The program aims to identify and attract promising national talent, enhance their professional readiness, and foster early engagement with the banking sector, thereby cultivating a generation of Kuwaiti talents capable of leading the future of business and the economy.

The program is rooted in the bank’s belief in the importance of investing in young national talent and its ongoing commitment to supporting Kuwaiti students throughout their academic and professional journeys. By providing a professional training environment that bridges theoretical knowledge with practical application, the program enables students to gain hands-on experience and professional skills that bolster their confidence and efficiency in entering the workforce.

“NBK Reach” offers a comprehensive professional development experience tailored for high-potential Kuwaiti students in the UK. Participants gain close exposure to the banking work environment, engage in specialized training and development programs, and benefit from professional mentoring and interaction with the bank’s leadership and experts, all of which help refine their skills and broaden their professional horizons.

The program also provides participants with the opportunity to undertake an internship at NBK’s London office, allowing them to directly experience the nature of work at one of the leading banking institutions and acquire practical field experience within a professional environment that reflects global banking standards.

Furthermore, the program enables students to explore various roles and functions within the banking and financial sectors and interact with the bank’s teams and experts. This contributes to developing their professional and personal skills, deepening their understanding of the business environment, and better preparing them to launch their careers after graduation.

The initiative reflects NBK’s approach to adopting innovative methods for attracting and engaging national talent at early stages of their academic journeys. This helps build a future base of qualified competencies capable of keeping pace with rapid transformations across various economic sectors, particularly the financial and banking sectors.

On this occasion, Ghadir Al-Kuhaji, Senior Vice President and Head of Talent Acquisition in the Group’s Human Resources Department, stated: “We believe that investing in youth is an investment in Kuwait’s future. Therefore, we launched NBK Reach to build effective bridges of communication with outstanding Kuwaiti students in the UK, enabling them to gain close insight into the banking work environment and acquire practical experience and specialized skills that support their future professional careers.”

Al-Kuhaji added: “The program reflects our strategy for developing human capital and attracting promising national talent at early stages of their academic journeys. This enhances the readiness of young Kuwaitis to engage in vital sectors, foremost among them the financial and banking sectors, and contributes to preparing a generation capable of meeting the demands of a changing job market.”

Al-Kuhaji emphasized that the program is a pioneering initiative within the Kuwaiti banking sector, as it provides a comprehensive developmental pathway for Kuwaiti students studying in the UK. She noted that the program embodies the bank’s commitment to continuously attracting and developing national talent, in alignment with Kuwait Vision 2035, which aims to develop human capital and build a knowledge- and innovation-based economy.

The initiative underscores National Bank’s position as one of the top employer brands among Kuwaitis, particularly among young talents seeking to build distinguished careers. This is driven by the bank’s continuous investment in developing national competencies, providing an attractive work environment that supports professional and leadership growth, and empowering employees to achieve their aspirations. These efforts enhance the bank’s ability to attract and retain top talent over the long term.

National Bank has consistently adopted high-impact initiatives across various sectors to support society and promote sustainable development. Foremost among these is its investment in education, reflecting the bank’s commitment to creating added value for the community. This goes beyond delivering high-quality banking services to include active contributions to nurturing a qualified generation capable of leading Kuwait’s development journey.
