University of Utah Awards GCC Secretary-General the First Distinguished Impact Alumni Award of the Year

This award recognizes the achievements he has made since graduating from the University of Utah, as well as his professional and diplomatic contributions throughout his career. Al-Badawi expressed his pride in this recognition from the University of Utah, emphasizing that the university holds a special place in his academic journey and that the knowledge and experience he gained there have contributed to building his professional and diplomatic career.
Al-Badawi also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the University of Utah’s administration, stressing that he does not view this honor as an endpoint, but rather as a contract and a commitment to ensure the continued strengthening of the bridge of relations between the Gulf region and the university.
He noted that relations between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the United States have become stronger and more active than ever before, with more students crossing this bridge, more research being shared through it, and greater mutual understanding flowing in both directions.
He praised the university’s distinguished academic standing and the outstanding efforts of its teaching and academic staff in instilling the values of science and knowledge.
At the same time, he commended the role of the faculty members in supporting his professional career. Al-Badawi urged the students present to continue investing in their education and continuously developing their capabilities and skills, and to make the most of the academic and research opportunities provided by the university. He affirmed that the ability to learn, evolve, and keep pace with changes has become one of the key components of success and excellence.
He expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the University of Utah’s administration, academic staff, and students for their warm reception and honor, wishing the university and its community continued progress and success, and further scientific and intellectual contributions that serve communities and strengthen bridges of communication and international cooperation.
