Al-Shaheen Group Opens Its First Own Distribution Center in Kuwait

Al-Shaheen Group announced the opening of its first owned distribution center in Kuwait, located in the West Abdullah Al-Mubarak area, a milestone in the group’s journey to develop its capabilities in logistics and supply chain management in the market where it was founded and first launched its operations.

A statement from the group noted that the new distribution center was designed to provide more integrated and efficient logistics operations. It features a central location that enables Al-Shaheen Group to serve its stores across Kuwait more effectively. By consolidating key activities in a single site, the center will streamline distribution processes, improve product flow to stores, and strengthen the operational infrastructure supporting Al-Shaheen’s growing portfolio of global brands.

The center spans 51,000 square meters and provides 51,000 pallet locations, in addition to a storage capacity of approximately 140,000 cubic meters. It brings together retail, food, store replenishment, e-commerce, and last-mile delivery operations under one roof, supporting more than 40 brands and 490 stores across Kuwait.

On this occasion, Tony Arnold, Head of Logistics Services at Al-Shaheen Group, said: “The opening of the new distribution center in Kuwait is a significant milestone in Al-Shaheen’s journey and reflects our continued focus on strengthening the infrastructure that supports our brands and stores. Its central location allows us to serve our stores more efficiently, improve product movement across our network, and deliver a higher level of responsiveness to our operational needs. Furthermore, consolidating our key logistics activities in a single, purpose-built facility provides us with a strong platform to support our future growth in Kuwait.”

The center includes a large fleet of 110 vehicles, helping to connect the center with Al-Shaheen’s extensive store network and support last-mile delivery operations. It also employs a diverse team of 585 colleagues representing more than 15 nationalities, reflecting the scale of operations and the vital role of the workforce managing Al-Shaheen’s logistics network in Kuwait.

The opening of the center represents a new step in the group’s long-term commitment to Kuwait, by enhancing the necessary infrastructure to support its brands, stores, and customers, while creating more integrated and resilient supply chain operations.
