Roma faces Inter Milan in a fiery title clash on Saturday

The Stadio Olimpico will host a fiery clash between Roma and visitors Inter Milan on Saturday, in the fifth round of the Italian Serie A. The match pits two teams that started the season strongly, both sitting atop the table with 12 points after four rounds.
Roma, leading on goal difference, enter the encounter with high morale after recording three wins and a draw in their last five matches across all competitions. The team managed by Gian Piero Gasperini has enjoyed a strong domestic start, highlighted by a dominant 4-0 victory over Fiorentina and Lecce, followed by a 2-1 win against Atalanta.
Inter, the defending champions, arrive in the Italian capital on the back of a string of positive domestic results, having secured four consecutive wins. This includes a thrilling 3-2 victory over Napoli, after coming from two goals down to win in the closing minutes, as well as a 5-3 win over Udinese, also after trailing by two clean goals.
Roma rely on a group of players capable of making the difference, led by Argentine Paulo Dybala, Matias Soulé, and Dutchman Donny van de Beek, who tops the league’s scoring chart with six goals, alongside the experience of Bryan Cristante and Gianluca Mancini.
Recent head-to-head meetings have favored Inter, who have won three of the last five encounters, compared to two wins for the capital’s side. Their last meeting ended with a 5-2 victory for Inter in April 2026, while Roma won 1-0 at the Stadio Olimpico in October 2025.
The round kicks off tomorrow, Friday, with Monza facing Sassuolo. On Saturday, Bologna will play Torino, Udinese will face Cagliari, and Venezia will take on Lazio.
