Salah and Hamza lead the Pharaohs squad

Cairo - AFP - Egypt head coach Hossam Hassan announced the squad for the Pharaohs' matches against Angola and South Sudan on September 25 and 29, in the first and second rounds of Group 2 of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, as well as a friendly against South Africa in Cairo on October 4.

Ibrahim Hassan, manager of the Egyptian national team, told AFP, "Several players are absent due to injuries, including Mahmoud Hassan 'Trezeguet', Yasser Ibrahim, and Mohamed El Shenawy. Meanwhile, Marwan Attia will miss only the match against Angola due to a two-match suspension he received during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. He was absent for the third-place match against Nigeria and will also be absent for the match against Angola."

Hassan added, "The training camp begins on Thursday at the National Teams Center in 6 October, continuing until the match against Angola. The team will then travel to South Sudan on the 27th of this month to face the host nation, before returning on September 30 in preparation for the friendly against South Africa."
