Turkish President's Advisor: Erdogan to Run in Early Elections

NTV television and the Cumhuriyet newspaper quoted Advisor Mohamed Oğuz as saying that “if 360 MPs support the decision to call for new elections, they will be held on April 16, 2028,” instead of their constitutionally scheduled date in May of the same year.
Following Turkey’s transition to a presidential system, he was re-elected in 2018 and again in 2023.
