The Blue Team trains at the Jeddah Sports City

The Kuwait national football team will train tomorrow evening at the auxiliary stadium of King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, in preparation for its participation in the Gulf Cup “Arabian Gulf 27,” which Saudi Arabia will host from September 23 to October 6.

The “Blue” team will compete in Group A, alongside the Saudi national team, which they will face in the opening match on September 23, as well as Iraq and Oman, whom they will meet sequentially on September 26 and 29, respectively.

The “Blue” team arrived in Jeddah today, Wednesday, from Doha after concluding a short training camp held there, during which they played one friendly match against Qatari Premier League club Lusail, winning 2-1.

The team is scheduled to play a second friendly match against their Yemeni counterparts on Friday at the Jeddah Club stadium.

In another development, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa, Minister of Sports and Youth, President of the Qatari Football Association, and President of the Gulf Football Union, received Sheikh Ahmad Al-Yousef, President of the Kuwaiti Football Association, at his office in Doha. They discussed the latest developments in Gulf and international football.

Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa had previously visited the Kuwait national team’s final training session during their stay at the Qatari “Aspire” Academy, wishing the players success in their upcoming participation.

The squad list featured a notable surprise with the exclusion of the duo of Salem Al-Dawsari, captain of the Saudi national team, and Saud Abdulhamid, player for Italian club Roma, despite their participation with the “Green” team in the recent FIFA World Cup finals held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
