Saudi Arabia: Houthi militia’s launch of a drone toward Mecca is a violation and provocation of the feelings of Muslims worldwide

In a statement issued today, Wednesday, it affirmed that this cowardly terrorist aggression against the Holy Land, the land of the Message and the site of Divine Revelation, and the Qibla of Muslims, constitutes a repetition of the terrorist Houthi militia’s practices of targeting and violating the Sacred Sites and provoking the sentiments of Muslims across the world. This is particularly notable as this incident marks the second attempt to target the Holy City of Mecca, following the first attempt on July 27, 2017.

It commended the vigilance of the Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces, which intercepted and destroyed the projectile before it entered the prohibited airspace over the Holy Capital of Mecca.

It reaffirmed its legitimate right to take all necessary measures to defend the security of the Two Holy Mosques, the Guests of God, and all of the Kingdom’s territory, its citizens, and its residents.
