Mahaisen: Arab media keeps pace with the requirements of the future

Dr. Nasser Al-Muhaisen, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, emphasized the importance of Kuwait’s participation in the 24th Arab Media Summit 2026, which launched on Tuesday in Dubai and concludes tomorrow, Thursday. He noted that the summit serves as a vital platform for exchanging visions and experiences and discussing the future of the media sector amid the rapid transformations occurring both regionally and internationally.

Speaking to KUNA News Agency on the sidelines of the summit, where he represented State Minister for Communications and Information Technology and Acting Minister of Information and Culture, Omar Al-Ammar, Al-Muhaisen stated that Kuwait’s participation reflects its commitment to keeping pace with developments in the media industry and benefiting from the experiences and expertise being shared. This, he added, contributes to enhancing media operations and strengthening its capacity to address rapid technological and digital changes, particularly artificial intelligence technologies.

He praised the summit’s excellent organization and the extensive participation of officials, media institution leaders, experts, and content creators. He underscored the importance of such gatherings in fostering cooperation and knowledge exchange among Arab media institutions and supporting efforts to develop an Arab media landscape capable of meeting the demands of the future.

This year’s edition is the largest in the summit’s history, bringing together more than 400 speakers from 23 countries and approximately 10,000 media professionals and sector stakeholders. The program includes over 175 discussion and dialogue sessions and 35 media events, with the participation of around 250 media organizations, to explore the future of media and the rapid shifts in technology, artificial intelligence, and digital platforms.

The Arab Media Summit, held in Dubai, selected Walid Al-Nasef, Editor-in-Chief of the sister publication Al-Qabas, as the “Media Personality of the Year” during the summit, which runs until the 17th of this month.

The summit’s agenda includes numerous forums and events, such as the Arab Media Forum, the Government Communication Forum (held for the first time within the summit), the Arab Youth Media Forum, the Film Forum, and the Esports Forum.
