Tajikistan Ambassador: Direct Flights Boost Tourism and Business with Kuwait
The Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to Kuwait, Khosrow Nazari, affirmed that Kuwait holds a “special and cherished place” in his country’s foreign policy, emphasizing that Tajik-Kuwaiti relations are witnessing steady progress based on mutual respect, political dialogue, trust, and mutually beneficial partnership.
Nazari, in a speech delivered during a celebration hosted by the Tajik Embassy in Kuwait on Monday evening to mark the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan’s independence, noted that his country looks forward to elevating relations from a strong level of political understanding to broader and more effective practical and economic cooperation. The event was attended by Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, Assistant Undersecretary for Asian Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nawaf Al-Latif Al-Ahmad, a number of ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions, diplomats, and members of the Tajik community.
He pointed out that the opening of the Kuwaiti Embassy in Dushanbe and the commencement of duties by the first Kuwaiti ambassador resident in Tajikistan represent an important step reflecting deep mutual trust and a shared will to enhance rapprochement between the two peoples.
Nazari stated, “Our task today is clear: to translate this strong political understanding into broader and more effective practical and economic cooperation.”
He added that Tajikistan looks forward to holding the fifth meeting of the Joint Governmental Committee for Economic, Trade, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation in Dushanbe, which would contribute to opening new horizons for cooperation, strengthening direct communication between business circles, and converting available opportunities into tangible projects and results that benefit both countries and their peoples.
Nazari praised the cooperation with the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and its contributions to supporting development projects in Tajikistan, describing this collaboration as a model of developmental solidarity and an embodiment of Kuwait’s approach to supporting development in friendly nations.
In the fields of aviation and tourism, Nazari described the direct flight route between Kuwait and Dushanbe, operated by Jazeera Airways, as an “important bridge” between the two countries.
He noted that direct flights have contributed to revitalizing tourism, business, investment, and cultural exchange, expressing his hope for continued development of the route and enhanced air connectivity to serve the interests of both peoples.
Tajikistan is placing increasing importance on developing cooperation in the aviation sector. Last August, the ambassador discussed with Jazeera Airways the prospects of expanding cooperation in this field.
