Kuwait proposes a Gulf mechanism to coordinate anti-corruption efforts

The Authority stated in a statement issued yesterday, Monday, that Al-Daihani praised, during his speech, the Gulf efforts to strengthen the integrity framework and combat corruption, amid rising international demands to entrench the values of integrity and enhance supervisory frameworks. He emphasized the commitment to cooperation with Gulf countries and their key initiatives within the framework of the Ministerial Committee on Combating Corruption.

The meeting discussed the GCC countries’ competition for research and studies in the fields of integrity protection and anti-corruption for 2026, titled “Combating Corruption through Non-Judicial Means: Theoretical Approaches and Practical Experiences,” and reviewed the results of the evaluation of research submissions by reviewers appointed by the GCC member states.

Additionally, the meeting discussed holding a workshop titled “Mechanisms for Enhancing Integrity and Compliance in the Private Sector,” as well as the recommendations of the Gulf workshop held last July, titled “Combating Corruption and Identifying Beneficial Owners in the GCC Countries,” which was organized by “Nizaha” in coordination with the General Secretariat.

Nizaha’s participation in this meeting reflects the State of Kuwait’s commitment to strengthening joint Gulf efforts in preventing and combating corruption, and its keenness to make an active contribution to safeguarding the values of integrity and transparency, in service of the societies of the GCC member states.
