Memorandum of Understanding between KUWAIT and the Arab Open University to enhance youth empowerment and academic cooperation
Loyak Foundation announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Arab Open University – Kuwait, aiming to establish a general framework for joint cooperation in youth development, student engagement, and skills enhancement, aligned with academic and professional needs and the labor market.
The MoU stipulates cooperation in organizing joint workshops and training programs, providing practical training and volunteering opportunities for students, supporting personal and professional development initiatives, as well as collaborating on awareness campaigns and community initiatives. The agreement also includes participation in student events, exchange of communication and media channels to support joint programs, permission to use facilities based on prior agreement, and the display of both parties’ logos and visual identities in joint activities.
For her part, Fadia Al-Marzouq, Chairperson of the Loyak Foundation Board, stated that Loyak believes investing in youth is not merely a choice, but a national and societal responsibility. She noted that the partnership with the Arab Open University represents a strategic step toward building a generation capable of facing future challenges by enhancing opportunities for applied learning, volunteering, and engagement in community initiatives.
She added: “Through this MoU, we aim to create an integrated educational and training environment that equips students with life and professional skills, opening new horizons for innovation and contribution. We look forward to this agreement being the beginning of a long path of fruitful cooperation that achieves sustainable social impact and strengthens the status of youth as a fundamental pillar of development.”
For his part, Dr. Salah Al-Humaidi, Director of the Arab Open University in Kuwait, emphasized that signing the MoU with Loyak Foundation represents an important step toward strengthening the partnership between academic and community institutions, and opening new horizons for students to benefit from quality opportunities in training, volunteering, and professional development, thereby helping to hone their skills and enhance their readiness for labor market requirements.
He clarified: “We at the Arab Open University are proud to sign this MoU, and we believe that the university’s role extends beyond providing academic knowledge to investing in human capital and empowering youth by preparing students who possess knowledge, practical and personal skills, and the ability to take initiative and actively participate in serving society and contributing to the development process.”
He noted that this partnership will contribute to providing quality opportunities and programs encompassing training, volunteering, workshops, and development initiatives, alongside the exchange of expertise and leveraging the capabilities of both parties, thereby enhancing the student experience and supporting their academic and professional aspirations, while linking educational outcomes to societal and labor market needs.
