Maersk stated in a bulletin that the resumption of services is part of the two companies’ plan to reactivate more routes through the Suez Canal, considered the shortest and most efficient route between the Asian and European continents, after a period of avoiding passage through the region. The decision to return was made following comprehensive assessments of security developments in the Red Sea area.
