The announcement followed the signing of an agreement between the Saudi Federation, represented by its exclusive commercial partner “SMC Vibes” (Al-Wasael Saudi Group), and the Kuwaiti alliance of “Al-Ray Media Group” and “Aayan Leasing and Investment Company,” making the alliance the official partner for hosting the Saudi Super Cup.
Kuwait becomes the eighth stop in the journey of the Saudi Super Cup, which has traveled since its inception between various local and international cities, including Makkah, Riyadh, Jeddah, and Abha, as well as London, Abu Dhabi, and Hong Kong. This approach reflects the diversity of the tournament’s venues and its expanding fan base, before settling in Kuwait for the first time next December.
The agreement was signed on Monday in Riyadh, in the presence of Kuwait Football Association President Sheikh Ahmed Al-Yousef, Saudi Football Federation President Badr bin Sulaiman Al-Razeez, Al-Ray Media Group CEO Rashid Al-Omairi, Aayan Leasing and Investment Company CEO Abdullah Al-Shatti, SMC Vibes CEO Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh, and Al-Ray Global Advertising and Public Relations Company CEO Khaled Al-Sayer.
Al-Yousef emphasized that the hosting reflects the deep fraternal relations uniting Kuwait and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, given the significant attention and interest Saudi football garners among Kuwaiti fans.
For his part, Saudi Football Federation President Badr bin Sulaiman Al-Razeez highlighted the importance of the Saudi Super Cup within the federation’s competition framework, noting that efforts are ongoing to develop the tournament and enhance its fan and commercial presence.
Al-Razeez pointed out that hosting the next edition in Kuwait represents a historic opportunity to strengthen the tournament’s regional presence, reach a broader segment of fans, and build strategic partnerships that contribute to enhancing its value, supporting the sustainability and development of Saudi football.
For his part, Fahad Ali Al-Ghanim, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at Aayan Leasing and Investment Company, expressed his delight at the event, noting that the alliance between “Al Rai” and “Aayan” in hosting the tournament underscores the capability and effectiveness of the Kuwaiti private sector in driving development across various fields, leveraging its extensive capacities and expertise.
He emphasized that this hosting reflects the deep fraternal relations between Kuwait and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as the massive public enthusiasm for Saudi football among Kuwaiti fans. This dynamic gives the tournament a special dimension, transforming its staging in Kuwait into a Gulf-wide occasion that transcends the boundaries of on-field competition.
Al-Ghanim affirmed that the “Al Rai” and “Aayan” alliance would deploy all available resources, capabilities, and expertise to deliver a distinguished edition befitting the tournament’s name and the stature of the participating clubs, meeting the expectations of fans and showcasing Kuwait’s ability to organize a high-profile sporting event at a professional level.
For his part, Rashid Ali Al-Omairi, CEO of Al Rai Media Group, expressed his pleasure at the partnership in hosting the Saudi Super Cup, reaffirming the anticipation of working with the Saudi Football Federation and SMC Vibes to present a premier edition that aligns with the tournament’s prestige and the significant interest Saudi football garners among Kuwaiti audiences.
Al-Omairi stated that hosting the Saudi Super Cup in Kuwait marks a new pivotal milestone in the trajectory of Kuwait’s media and sports presence, reflecting the high level of fruitful cooperation achieved through national partnerships. He attributed this success to the support of the political leadership and the Amir’s directives from His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to strengthen public-private partnerships in support of development in Kuwait.
He added that this support served as a catalyst for the “Al Rai” and “Aayan” alliance’s success in securing the hosting rights for this event, which represents a unique opportunity to highlight Kuwait’s organizational capabilities and enhance the confidence of major federations and sports bodies in its ability to host large-scale tournaments with efficiency and professionalism.
Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Sheikh, CEO of SMC Vibes, stated that Kuwait’s hosting of the Saudi Super Cup represents a new step toward expanding the tournament’s presence and enhancing its commercial value, thereby delivering greater value to the tournament, its partners, and its fans.
