The University of Kuwait opened the doors of its colleges today, Sunday, to welcome students for the new academic year, amid comprehensive preparations that encompassed colleges, facilities, and services. This year, the university also celebrated its 60th anniversary since its establishment.

As life returned to the streets and college facilities within the university campus in Sabah Al-Salem City, Al-Shadadiya, the university confirmed the completion of its preparations to welcome students, academic staff, supporting academic personnel, and administrative staff, ensuring an organized start to the academic year and the continuity of the educational process from the very first day.

University management emphasized its commitment to integrating efforts and raising readiness levels across all university sectors, thereby enhancing its capacity to continue fulfilling its scientific and educational missions efficiently, and providing students with an appropriate environment to achieve success and excellence throughout their university journey.

On the occasion of the launch of the new academic year, University President Dr. Dina Al-Milhim addressed the university community with her warmest wishes for a year full of contribution and achievement. She affirmed that the new year represents a promising opportunity to achieve further excellence and leadership, and an ambitious launch toward broader horizons of knowledge and innovation. It is an important milestone for shaping a future that befits the aspirations of the nation and its youth, and enhances the position and academic and research presence of the University of Kuwait.

Dr. Al-Milhim emphasized that the University of Kuwait proudly recalls the high patronage it enjoys from His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah; His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah; and His Highness the Prime Minister, Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, alongside the continuous support of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nader Al-Jalal. She noted that this patronage embodies a firm belief that knowledge is one of the pillars of nation-building, and that the university, with its intellectual and national mission, represents an authentic source contributing to the nation’s progress and development.

She added that this support entails a responsibility that renews determination and serves as a driving force to continue the path of contribution and excellence, elevate the role of the University of Kuwait in serving the nation and preparing its generations, and contribute to building a future that befits the status of the State of Kuwait and the aspirations of its wise leadership.
