36.2 million dinars in Kuwait Oil Company tenders and extensions worth $32.8 million
Kuwait Today announced three tenders by Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) with a total value of 36.2 million dinars, including two awards worth 25.6 million dinars and one postponement worth 10.6 million dinars, in addition to other tenders whose values were not specified.
The Board of Directors of the Central Tenders Committee approved awarding the tender for repair and renewal services for production facilities in western Kuwait to KOC to the Joint Contractors Group, as the second-lowest compliant bid meeting the required conditions and specifications. The award value amounted to 9.7 million dinars, after the lowest-priced bid was excluded for failing to meet the required conditions and specifications.
The Board authorized KOC to proceed with the lowest-priced bidder for the tender regarding building maintenance services, under Article 40 of Public Tenders Law No. 49 of 2016, with the recommendation to be submitted to the Board within 10 working days.
The total value of the tender is approximately 15.993 million dinars, distributed across four contracts: 4.89 million dinars for the first contract, 3.556 million for the second, 4.496 million for the third, and 3.051 million for the fourth.
The request included awarding the Kuwait Company for Building Factories and Contracts, as the fifth-lowest compliant bid meeting the conditions and specifications, with a value of 10.619 million dinars, subject to a valuation assessment in accordance with the provisions of the Public Tenders Law.
The Central Tenders Committee also approved the fifth extension of the contract for Jurassic production facilities in East and West Al-Roudhah and West Sabriya and Um Naga, awarded to KOC and signed with Schlumberger Oilfield Eastern Limited and its local agent, Arab Commercial Projects Company.
The first extension spans 181 days, from September 22, 2026, to March 21, 2027, at an additional cost of 12.769 million dollars, pending the completion of the new tender procedures.
The Board also approved the fourth extension of the contract for the same facilities, signed with the same company, to last for 176 days from September 27, 2026, to March 21, 2027, at a total value of 20.064 million dollars, under the same terms and prices, until the completion of the new tender procedures, bringing the total value of the two contracts to 32.8 million dollars.
On another note, the Supreme Purchasing Committee of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and its affiliated companies approved KOC’s request to launch a public tender for helicopter services. The approval came after the Committee reviewed the company’s letter and discussed the request.
The Committee also approved launching a tender for internal inspection services for pipelines using detection and internal inspection technologies, following a study of the request submitted by KOC.
The Committee approved launching a public tender for the operation and maintenance of the “Sedra-500” solar power station in western Kuwait. The tender aims to provide operation and maintenance services for the station in accordance with the technical and operational requirements specified by KOC.
It also approved the first extension of the contract related to the large-scale storage system at the Corporation level, following the Committee’s review of KOC’s request.
