Loss of contact with Indonesian ferry carrying 243 passengers

Contact was lost with a ferry carrying 243 passengers while it was sailing through bad weather from Surabaya in Indonesia to another coastal city, according to the rescue agency.

The head of the search and rescue office in Banjarmasin said, “We received a report regarding the loss of contact with the vessel (Virgo Transport 8) and immediately dispatched rescue personnel and the rescue vessel (Laksamana 241) to the last known position, based on estimates.”
