870 Security and Traffic Patrols Support the Launch of the New Academic Year

The Ministry of Interior has raised its security and operational readiness levels in preparation for the launch of the 2026/2027 academic year, enhancing the deployment of its patrols around schools, access roads, and various vital locations. This measures aim to regulate traffic flow, reduce congestion, and ensure the safety of students and road users.

In a statement, the ministry noted that the preparations included 870 security and traffic patrols distributed across 520 units from the Directorates of Security Affairs sector, 200 from the General Directorate of Traffic, and 150 from the General Directorate of Emergency Police.

• General Directorate of Emergency Police: Immediate intervention and rapid response to reports received via 112. In the event of any emergency, the emergency hotline is fully prepared to receive reports around the clock.
