Ministry of Education: The issuance of military uniforms by a school administration was an individual act; the incident is under administrative investigation
The Ministry of Education confirmed today that the issuance of directives regarding military uniforms by one of the school administrations was an individual act that does not represent the ministry, noting that the incident is under administrative investigation.
In a statement, the ministry said: “With reference to what has been circulated via social media concerning one school administration’s publication of a notice containing instructions for parents regarding military uniforms when visiting the school, the Ministry of Education clarifies that what was issued in this regard constitutes an individual action by the school administration and does not reflect a policy or decision issued by the ministry.”
The ministry emphasized in its statement that “the Comprehensive Regulatory Framework for Education is the official reference governing work in schools, stressing the necessity for all school administrations to comply with its provisions and with official decisions and circulars issued by the ministry, and to refrain from unilaterally introducing any regulations or instructions without consulting the competent authorities.”
It was noted that “in accordance with directives from Minister of Education Sayyid Jalal Al-Tabatabai, the ministry has begun taking the necessary administrative and legal measures regarding the incident. The concerned school administration has been instructed to immediately remove the notice, and the case has been referred to administrative investigation to ascertain the circumstances and hold those responsible accountable in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.”
The Ministry of Education expressed its pride and appreciation for members of the military and security agencies, commending their national role and the sincere efforts they contribute to serving the State of Kuwait and safeguarding its security and stability.
It reiterated to all school administrations the necessity of adhering to the Comprehensive Regulatory Framework for Education, official decisions and circulars, and compliance with the frameworks and regulations governing school operations, and of refraining from independent initiatives or issuing any instructions or regulations unilaterally without referring to the competent authorities within the ministry.
