"The Coalition: We will deal with the Houthi terrorism responsibly to protect Saudi sovereignty"
The Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen announced that the Houthi terrorist militia continued its “outrageous attacks” on Saudi Arabia’s national assets and infrastructure, confirming the militia’s approach and extremist ideology of escalation and targeting civilians.
The official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted the Coalition’s spokesperson, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, as saying that the “Houthi terrorist militia renewed its attacks on Wednesday against the cities of Khamis Mushait, Abha, and Jizan with a number of ballistic missiles and drones.”
He affirmed that the Coalition’s Joint Forces Command would respond to these attacks responsibly to protect the Kingdom’s sovereignty, national capabilities, and civilians and civilian objects from these outrageous attacks, in accordance with the principle of self-defense under international law and Article 51 of the UN Charter, and in line with international humanitarian law and its customary rules.
In a related development, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan held telephone conversations with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al Busaidi to discuss regional developments and diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and enhancing regional security and stability.
Prince Faisal and Sheikh Mohammed reviewed cooperation relations and ways to support and strengthen them, as well as the latest regional developments, particularly diplomatic efforts and joint coordination to de-escalate tensions and enhance security and stability in the region.
Prince Faisal also expressed his country’s condemnation of the targeting of civilian and economic facilities in southern Saudi Arabia.
In another call, the Saudi minister discussed with his Omani counterpart the latest developments in the region, the importance of continuing Saudi and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries’ efforts to support diplomatic solutions aimed at de-escalation and enhancing regional security and stability, and the importance of ensuring the security and freedom of maritime navigation.
Al Busaidi expressed Muscat’s condemnation and solidarity with Saudi Arabia following the brutal attacks that targeted civilian and economic facilities in the southern Kingdom.
