State Minister for Communications and Information Technology and Acting Minister of Media and Culture, Omar Al-Omar, participated on Thursday in the tenth meeting of ministers responsible for tourism in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The meeting, chaired by Bahrain’s Minister of Tourism Fatima Al-Sairafi and attended by GCC Secretary-General Jasem Al-Budaiwi and the ministers responsible for tourism in the GCC member states, emphasized the importance of continuing joint Gulf efforts to enhance cooperation and coordination in the tourism sector and develop joint Gulf initiatives. These efforts aim to support the tourism sector, strengthen its foundations, and enhance the status of GCC countries as a regional and international tourist destination.

On the sidelines of the conference, Al-Omar held discussions with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Al-Khateeb, to strengthen prospects for joint cooperation in areas that serve the interests of both countries and their fraternal peoples.

The meeting addressed the deep-rooted fraternal and historical relations between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, and ways to enhance joint cooperation in fields related to tourism, thereby supporting and developing the tourism sector in both fraternal countries.

This aims to enhance the utilization of the assets and potential possessed by both countries and to support the growth of tourism flows between them.
