Mexican Ambassador: We are keen to strengthen the partnership with Kuwait

The Mexican Ambassador to Kuwait, Eduardo Patricio Peña Haller, expressed his country’s appreciation for Kuwait’s historic role in promoting stability in the Middle East region, as well as its constructive role in supporting dialogue, the peaceful settlement of conflicts, and enhancing international cooperation. He expressed hope that peace and prosperity would once again prevail across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.
In a statement issued by the embassy to mark Mexico’s 216th anniversary of independence, Haller reaffirmed Mexico’s commitment to further strengthening friendship, mutual respect, and cooperation with Kuwait, and to exploring new horizons for partnership between the two countries, for the benefit of both friendly peoples. He noted that Mexican-Kuwaiti relations are built on solid foundations of mutual respect, constructive dialogue, and a shared commitment to international cooperation.
He emphasized that Mexico particularly values Kuwait’s role at both the regional and international levels, especially in supporting dialogue and the peaceful settlement of conflicts, and in enhancing international cooperation. He affirmed that Kuwait serves as a model in adopting an approach based on dialogue and multilateral action.
He pointed out that Mexico and Kuwait share a vision that underscores the importance of dialogue, cooperation, and respect for international law. He highlighted the ongoing coordination between the two countries within the framework of the United Nations and other multilateral forums, in support of peace, sustainable development, respect for international law, and the strengthening of multilateral action.
Haller expressed Mexico’s sincere appreciation for the Kuwaiti government and people for the feelings of friendship and respect they demonstrate, as well as for their continuous support and hospitality. He praised the warm welcome and appreciation extended to the Mexican community in Kuwait.
He clarified that diplomatic relations between Mexico and Kuwait were established in 1975 and have seen steady progress over the past five decades in various fields, including politics, economy, and culture, alongside growing interaction and exchange between the two peoples.
The ambassador noted that the coming phase holds promising opportunities to enhance the partnership between the two countries by expanding areas of cooperation and leveraging the potential available to both sides.
These areas include, in addition to political and economic cooperation, the sectors of education, culture, tourism, renewable energy, and innovation, as well as the development of youth capacities and enhanced communication between various institutions in both countries.
The embassy also stressed the importance of continuing cultural and people-to-people exchanges, as they constitute a fundamental element in building bridges of understanding and strengthening friendship between Mexico and Kuwait.
