A tough group for Al-Kuwait Youth

The draw for the Gulf Cup for Under-17 football, held on Thursday at the headquarters of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Football Association in the Qatari capital, Doha, placed the Kuwait national team in Group 2 alongside Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Yemen, and Egypt.

Qatar will host the tournament from October 16 to November 4 next year, with 10 national teams participating. Group 1 is considered the toughest, as it features defending champions Saudi Arabia, along with Iraq and Egypt.

Under the tournament format, the top two teams from each group advance to the semi-finals, which are played on a knockout basis. The winner of Group 1 will face the runner-up of Group 2, while the winner of Group 2 will play against the runner-up of Group 1.
