Global Charity Concludes 'Mental Health Support' Project

Ibrahim Al-Badr, Deputy General Manager of Projects at the Islamic World Charity Organization (IWCO), stated that the project aimed to enhance the mental health and social support of persons with disabilities and improve their quality of life, and was implemented over a period of three months.

Al-Badr clarified that approximately 200 persons with disabilities, both beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries of the Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities (PAPD), benefited from the project, reflecting a commitment to expanding the scope of assistance and reaching target groups according to their needs. He added that the total value of support provided by the PAPD to implement the project amounted to 114,286 Kuwaiti dinars. He explained that the project’s activities focused on providing psychological and social support and assistance to beneficiaries, thereby contributing to enhanced psychological stability, improved quality of life, and better coping with potential challenges.

He noted that attention to the psychological and social aspects of persons with disabilities constitutes a fundamental part of the integrated care system, emphasizing that their care requires the integration of health, psychological, and social dimensions, as well as the development of initiatives and programs that respond to their actual needs and achieve tangible impacts on their lives.

He further stated that the project exemplifies a model of cooperation and integration among national institutions, as the PAPD provided support for the project, the IWCO oversaw it, and the Human Capital Initiative for Social Development executed its activities, thereby enhancing the integration of roles and efforts in serving society and supporting priority groups.

Al-Badr reaffirmed the IWCO’s commitment to continuing its support for social and humanitarian initiatives within the State of Kuwait and strengthening partnerships with national entities and institutions, aiming to deliver high-quality services that address beneficiaries’ needs, support persons with disabilities, and enhance their quality of life.
