120 Kuwaiti athletes compete in the 2026 Asian Games

Kuwait Olympic Committee President Sheikh Fahad Al-Nasser affirmed that Kuwait’s participation in the 20th Asian Games, “Aichi-Nagoya 2026,” represents a significant milestone in the trajectory of Kuwaiti sports, offering Kuwaiti athletes an opportunity to showcase their abilities and compete in one of the largest sporting platforms in Asia.

Speaking on the occasion of the Kuwaiti delegation’s departure for the Games, he stated that the delegation comprises 120 athletes representing Kuwait in 16 sports: shooting, athletics, football, golf, modern pentathlon, fencing, teqball, sport climbing, karate, equestrian, squash, jiu-jitsu, swimming, handball, padel, and sailing.

He noted that the Kuwait Olympic Committee has ensured the provision of all necessary resources to prepare and equip the delegation, enabling athletes to perform at a distinguished level befitting the name and sporting stature of Kuwait.

He also expressed his profound gratitude and appreciation to the private sector, represented by Mobile Telecommunications Company “Zain” and Kuwait Finance House, for their strategic partnership with the Kuwait Olympic Committee and their continuous support for Kuwaiti sports and athletes.

The Committee President addressed the delegation members, urging them to represent Kuwait with pride and high sportsmanship, and to exert their utmost efforts to achieve the best results. He wished them success and the realization of achievements that would bring joy to the Kuwaiti people and help raise Kuwait’s flag high in the skies of the Asian Games.

Kuwait’s participation in “Aichi-Nagoya 2026” reflects the growing ambition of Kuwaiti sports to achieve a more impactful presence at continental levels, leveraging this participation to enhance athletes’ expertise, hone their talents, and pave the way for new accomplishments to be added to the record of Kuwaiti sports.
